Where wireless stops

A wired backbone gives Wi‑Fi and connected devices something solid to work from.

Good cabling reduces the load on wireless connections and gives fixed devices a direct route back to the network. It is especially useful for distant rooms, granny flats, offices, televisions, cameras and ceiling-mounted access points.

  • New Ethernet and data points
  • Replacement of damaged or ageing internal cabling
  • Wired connections for wireless access points
  • Home-office and entertainment connections
  • Network cabling for compatible CCTV equipment

Why cabling condition matters

The plan promised speed. The old cable stopped it reaching the room.

On one completed home network job, replacing the internal cabling improved the measured download result from 98 Mbps to 821 Mbps. It is a useful reminder to test the connection before blaming the provider or buying more Wi‑Fi hardware.

Data cabling questions

Plan the route before cutting the wall.

Do I need Ethernet if I already have Wi‑Fi?

Not for every device, but cabling can make fixed equipment more reliable and provides a strong connection for access points that extend wireless coverage.

Can you add cabling to an existing home?

Often, yes. Access depends on the roof, subfloor, wall construction and the required route. Isaiah checks feasibility before confirming the scope.

Do you perform 240-volt electrical work?

No. WNDR Works handles telecommunications, AV and security cabling. Any mains electrical work is completed by a licensed electrician.
